The Metalworks Institute (MWI) of Sound & Music Production is the educational creation and natural extension of world-renowned Metalworks Studios. Founded by Gil Moore, we are a dynamic, independent institution dedicated to providing education in the areas of audio recording, production and the business of entertainment.

MWI provides a superior curriculum, as well as unrivalled social, educational and cultural experiences.     The Audio Production and Engineering curriculum encompasses the fundamental theories and skill-sets related to music and audio production, as well as advanced digital theory and sound technologies related to internet audio deployment and emerging digital protocols. Designed to optimize your future opportunities in the rapidly changing music and audio worlds, this program is focused on the digital future while teaching the analogue past. Your class time will include courses on a broad range of topics related to the music and entertainment industries.

    Entertainment Business Management
    The Entertainment Business Management Program provides a strong mix of quantitative, analytical, and strategic skills. Encompassing all facets of the entertainment and recording industries in addition to progressive business concepts and management practices, this program features topics that offer students a wide array of business disciplines relevant to the entertainment field.

    Professional Sound - Audio Production Major
    This program combines the curriculums from our Audio Production & Engineering and Show Production & Event Management Programs into a two year format. This program enables the student to learn the audio world from both the live event perspective, as well as inside the control room, ensuring additional career pathways for students who are committed to a technical career in audio. A mixed business component compliments this in-depth “double audio” program.

    Professional Sound and Business - Live Production Major
    This program is a combination of our Show Production & Event Management and Entertainment Business Management curriculums taught as a two year program. Combining these programs gives the student a balance between audio production skills and the business principals associated with the live event and entertainment industries. This program is ideal for students who wish to expand their career pathways, keeping their options open in both the creative and business areas in the live event field.

    Professional Sound and Business - Studio Production Major
    This program contains our Audio Production & Engineering and Entertainment Business Management curriculums taught as a two year program, focusing on the recording and music industries from both a business and creative standpoint. This provides the student with a well-balanced perspective, allowing expanded career opportunities in both the studio and business areas of the recording, film and entertainment industries.
