    • Addictions Intervention Counselling
    You are a caring person who wants to pursue a career working with families and individuals who are impacted by addictions. You have wanted to counsel and educate people to make better choices in life. Graduate Opportunities: The Addictions Intervention Counselling Program at CTS Canadian Career College prepares the graduate for professional and paraprofessional positions in areas of counselling and intake within correctional facilities, group homes, young offender facilities, emergency shelters, schools, youth and adult counselling facilities, mental health centers, and more! This intense program presents the most up-to-date training methods delivered by highly qualified and certified instructors. The program is approved through the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Board. An 8 week inclusive work placement experience is included.  

    Community Services Worker
    You are a resourceful and caring person interested in a career that provides many types of assistance to people and their families in the community. Job opportunities can be obtained in job training programs, residential care facilities and private social service agencies. The growing population of elderly persons, the mentally disabled and developmentally challenged, pregnant teenagers, homeless persons and those with substance abuse problems will continue the need for Community Service Workers. Other areas where there is continuing growth are in native outreach and community development, especially for youth, as well as rehabilitation.

    Medical Office Administrator
    This diploma program prepares the graduate for administrative positions working in medical environments including clinics, hospitals, physician's offices, physiotherapists and many more. Graduates will possess strong office administrative and computer skills combined with a basic understanding of anatomy, pathology and pharmacology. Graduates will use appropriate terminology when dealing with medical staff and clients/patients and will be able to assist medical staff with the care and administration of patients. Graduates will be prepared to produce transcribed reports and process computerized OHIP billing and associated documentation.

    Paramedic
    In the Paramedic program you will gain the skills and knowledge to practice emergency pre-hospital medical care and to function as an integral member of the health care team assisting victims of accident or illness, safely transporting patients, and, if needed, continuing emergency treatment after arrival at a health care center.

    Successful graduates will have developed the marketing and advertising skills to plan, direct, and evaluate the activities of sales departments. You will be able to promote the sale of products/services and establish distribution networks for these products. As a graduate you will have the ability to develop and execute advertising campaigns, communication strategies to publicize events and maintain media relations. You will also be prepared to play a role in human resource management, including recruitment, orientation, change & organizational management and strategic planning.

    Office Administrator
    Office Administrator program is designed to train students in the latest computer software applications most prevalently used in a professional office environment. Advancing computer technology means rapid change for today's office professionals. Students must be skilled in the latest software, able to adapt to frequently updated versions, and able to apply computer capabilities to new applications. In addition, this program provides training in general office management, including general office operations, structure and functions, problem solving relative to people, equipment and procedures as well as accounting principles and processes including Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, trial balances, journal entries and payroll.

    Law Clerks are trained to provide many important and highly specialized administrative duties. As a result, this profession has become an increasingly valuable resource to law firms and businesses alike. Law clerks will work in a very fast-paced environment in law firms, corporate legal departments, financial institutions, insurance companies, title searching companies, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Government offices, court offices, registry offices, government boards and tribunals, and legal services provider agencies, etc. Depending on the area of employment, law clerks will prepare trial documentation, will interview witnesses, arrange trial dates and adjournments, prepare corporate/commercial documentation, complete family law financial statements, assist in the administration of estates, complete legal research, searching titles and processing real estate transactions etc.

    Paralegals are in great demand, as they can perform many of the duties that lawyers have traditionally accomplished.     • Pharmacy Technician
    The core competencies that a Certified Pharmacy Technician practicing in Ontario possess are set out through the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP). With the core competencies as set out by the OCP, the Pharmacy Technician program provides both technical and practical training which will enable the technician to function as a competent, entry-level assistant to a licensed pharmacist. The program provides the student with the basic knowledge of and practice in pharmacy calculations, drug distribution systems, and preparation of sterile dosage forms.
